Chikako Iwahori was born in Tokyo. She started to dance as a child studying ballet, tap, jazz, African-dance, baton-twirling and Karate, in which she holds a black belt. In 1995 she moved to New York to study with legendary tap masters. She has danced for several years with Feraba - the African rhythm tap company, as well as Keba Cissoko's West African music band, Tamalalou and Akim Funk Buddha's Dha Fuzion. She has been dancing with Manhattan Tap led by Heather Cornell for several years and with Max Pollak's Rumba Tap. Ms. Iwahori is a performer with a charming charisma.
