Challenging warmups and rhythmic routines that will develop your balance, clarity and timing.

South Afr. Gumboot Dancing II/Mix: Rosenkrantz
A high-energy class introducing percussive dancing of South African miners and sugar cane workers. Wear sneakers/walking boots or gumboots and long pants. No tap shoes!

Body Music: Rhythm Studio (6 days)/Mix: Terry
Slapping the body, stamping your feet, using your voice and creating wonderful rhythms together. At the same time you will be introduced to rhythms of differen cultures. Wear sneakers.

Odd Time Signatures I/Int-Adv.: Terry
Learn more about different musical meters, for instance 5/4, 7/4 -time signatures etc. Wear sneakers at first - later tap shoes!

Relating to the Band I/Int-Prof.: Terry
Vocabulary, counting off tunes, tempo, dynamics, various time signatures. Live music will be provided.

Vernacular Jazz I/Elem, II/Int: Whitmore
Fun movements and steps without taps from the 1930-60's. Very helpful in making you loosen up as a tap dancer. Wear sneakers!

Choreography (6 days)/Int-Adv.: Whitmore
Includes vernacular jazz, Lindy hop etc. depending on the skills of the students. Chor. Given by the instructor. Performance Sun. Aug. 8 at 14.00. Wear sneakers!

Sunday WORKSHOPS August 8th

Southern Appalachian Clogging/Beg.-Adv: Ladin
Southern Appalachian Clogging is a step dance style developed in the mountains in the Southeastern United States. A unique mixture of English, Irish, African and Native Am. Percussive dance. Evie introduces a variety of basic steps, building seqentially so you continue to add to your repertoire while reviewing at the same time. Evie's fluid technique will get you dancing and keep you dancing! Wear tap or irish hard shoes!
