TAP ORIGINS: Lecture/Demonstration by Evie Ladin
Tuesday Aug. 3 starting at 20.00-21.30, KAS-Studios, Kasarmikatu 19

In her lecture/demonstration she explores the variety of step dance styles that made their way to the "New World" with the settlers,including their musical accompaniment. She explores how the the various dance styles influenced the development of distinctly American percussive dances, leading to Tap. The step dances covered include Irish, English, French-Canadian, American Clogging, Hambone and finally Tap. Evie will demonstrate the various dance styles.

PART II, AUGUST 5-7
